Leaving
in November 2006, after hopefully reaching our goal of £20
000, our five riders join up with 95 others in London and fly to
Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
This group of 100 riders will form the EnduroAfrica
team for 2006, in a unique and challenging motorbike adventure
in aid of the charity Riders
for Health. The trip involves the 100 bikers from all over
the world tackling 14 days of dusty and demanding riding through
some of South Africa's most rugged and isolated terrain.
There's backing from the likes of Randy Mamola, John Reynolds,
James Toseland, Niall Machenzie and BBC's Suzi Perry to name but
a few, and together we aim to purchase 100 bikes for the health
workers of Zimbabwe. By taking part in EnduroAfrica, and raising
money for Riders for Health, our BikeAfrica team will be helping
to save the lives of some of Africa's poorest people.

Riders for Health will train medical staff in Zimbabwe to not
only ride the motorcycles, but also maintain them. Infact, the
money raised by BikeAfrica and EnduroAfrica for Riders for Health
is aimed to be enough to keep the bikes maintained for several
years, not just the initial purchase. After all, what good would
it be to simply hand a medical person a motorcycle? This goes
far beyond that.
